Have a free sat (bbc, itv etc) setup in the house and then the irish channels when the sky box is turned off. Whats the best way to combine the irish channels to the sky menu or is it possible?

I have the dish outside with a quad lnb that comes in to a triax tms 54

Which feeds down to 3 tvs. I was looking at a tv/sat combiner but said Id get some advice first.

    Thanks

    John

You need a sky subscription for this.
If you buy a combi FTA box you can combine Saoirview & the UK FTA channels. No 7 day EPG for this though on the satelite channels.

Aye you can - I've a Triax TSC 114 Saorview/FTA Combo box. The Saorview & FTA channels all appear on the one menu. 1 - 8 is RTE 1, RTE 2 HD, ...., RTE + 1 on Saorview, 9 on is BBC 1, BBC 2, ..., etc from FTA.

By tv/sat. combiner, you mean combine the signal from a UHF aerial with the satellite IF?

Do you mean you have a Triax TMS 5x4, which is a multiswitch (not what's pictured in your link) & is already capable of carrying out this function?

The sat/aerial combiner in that video only combines the signal from the dish and the signal from the aerial together down a single co-ax cable to a tv point to be split again with before it goes into the required receivers. It won't combine the channels carried in the 2 feeds.

I have the triax in the pic below, it has 4 inputs from the satellite and 4 outputs to the tv. It also has a uhf/vhf connector on the left side

Did you install that yourself? A 4-output multiswitch (on its own) is pretty pointless unless you use the terrestrial input. A quad lnb, as opposed to the quattro feeding your switch, would do the same job for the satellite signals only, without the switch.

I just wondered what you meant by 'tv/sat combiner' in your OP, when you already have that facility in the switch. Maybe you were referring to a combi receiver?
