Just show them your current account and don't say anything about the savings one.

SO the money is just resting in your account? YOu'll be lucky if they don't send you to Craggy Island for that kind of carry on! I don't see how money in your account should work against you, esspecially if you are going for Jobseekers Benefit as that comes from your PRSI contributions I think.

You'll be grand with that amount, i think its only when its like 20 or 30 grand that they take any notice of it

Info on the means testing for JSA here: http://www.citizensinformation.ie/en/social_welfare/irish_social_welfare_system/means_test_for_social_welfare_payments/means_test_for_jobseekers_allowance.html

Any savings under 20k is discounted - above that amount and they reduce your weekly payment.

OP if you have stamps for 2010 you should be entitled to JSB which is based on PRSI contributions and not means tested. Info here: http://www.citizensinformation.ie/en/social_welfare/social_welfare_payments/unemployed_people/jobseekers_benefit.html

You are allowed to have 20.000 in savings.
