Doing a refresher for my HUET in two weeks time, had to cancel it last week due to flight cancellations in Nice. If ever I attended a training course that was the difference between life and death that is it.

Glad to hear all are OK.

Investigators have found a failure in the lubrication system of a helicopter which ditched near Fair Isle on Monday.
A special bulletin issued by the Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) said the main and standby oil pumps were not working.
All 19 on board the Super Puma EC 225 were rescued safely after it ditched during a flight from Aberdeen to the West Pheonix rig, west of Shetland.
Flights by other aircraft of the same type have been halted.
The report suggests the helicopter came close to being involved in a much more serious incident.

I remember reading about a Bristow Super Puma crash in the North Sea from the 90s.
Apparently there was a black hole in radar due to the curvature of the earth there, is this normal? In such a busy helicopter route?

Again, 1300 well spent for the off shore survival course!
