Leak in Ceiling

I noticed a little hole in the ceiling below the hot press with drops of water about every minute or so. I went up and found a pipe with an odd drop coming from it so put some towels down until I can get it fixed but the drops continued. When I turn the heating on the drops stop. Any suggestions on what it could be?

    Thanks

A leak, so its prob on your heating line, more than likely under floorboards somewhere

Thanks. Did any have that problem before that could give a rough estimate? Under floorboards sounds expensive.

Ok its sounds like a pin hole in pipe or just a loose joint on pipework, its not a big job if you have carpet on the floor above, but if its tiled or wooded floor down it mean cutting the floor, or coming from under neat and cutting a section from the ceiling

Did you not say it was coming from a pipe in the hotpress?

true true sorry my mistake, so you can see the drip coming, sure just get a adjustable spanner ( as im sure you dont have a 3/4 by 1/2 spaner) and tighten the nut a little, that should do the job

Thanks for the info lads. Yes it was coming from a pipe in the hot press but I put towels down and it still dripped from the ceiling and the towels were no way soaked through, should have well stopped the small leak in the pipe from traveling down.

it doesnt sound like a major problem , easy fix by the sounds of things, just get a local plumber out to sort it
