I'm looking for someone to play 40x20 handball with in the racquetball/ handball alley in gort community centre.
I'm in my 20s and have been playing about a year.

I don't live locally anymore but am around on a lot of Saturdays.
I don't know anyone around who plays so posting here now. Iv a few lads who want to learn but the more the merrier.

If you're a beginner no problem il train you in, and i have the equipment.
You don't need to be a member, and its only around a fiver an hour.

    Pm me if interested please.

Mods: is it ok to post this in the Galway and Clare forums as well

Racquetball and handball (40x20) are the same dimensions. They have one in the centre, and 2 squash courts
Edit: all the line markings are the same too.

There are so many handball courts around Galway with no handball club functioning.
    Its criminal

I know, I don't know of any players within a 20 mile radius. Saying that, I barely knew what the game was a year ago.
It's strange alright, for an area with no football, like Kilkenny or east Clare, that it never took off.

The underage scene in Galway is probably stronger now than it ever has been. Inverin, Moycullen and Williamstown are the three leading clubs at present, with the latter two having a good smattering of adults of varying abilities. I know Gort is quite a distance from both, but it all depends on how much you want to play.

Ya, they're a fair trip, I live in Dublin and its only the odd Saturday that im home. That's good to know though, might make a few enquiries.

(Edit: i was referring to south galway, not the whole county, i should have been clearer) There's no exposure to it really down here in south Galway/ north Clare which is a pity, although I think there's a bit of one wall promotion in the national schools this year with teacher in services.
