avoid Argos. lots of incompatible muck on sale there. Digihome same as a Walker IIRC. Vestel made.

I'd go for the Samsung or the LG. Don't know much about the Toshiba but the other two are a false economy.

This Toshiba looks good value at €255 and free delivery.

Not mad at all. It's free delivery to Ireland too, just add it to your basket and choose free delivery.

According to Agros it is indeed compatible.

The Argos website is littered with incompatible tVs. Do Currys sell this model in Ireland...a far more accurate test.

In which case, go for the Saorview approved models, like the Samsung the OP linked to. Leave it up to the OP where he/she wants to do their shopping.

The Toshiba 32BV502 is mpeg2 only.

LOL! Damn sure I'd want my new telly to last more than 2 years max!

Of course, he was playing you and pushing their stupid insurance policy. Though it sounds like he doesn't want to sell anything if he has so little faith in the products he's trying to sell.

Life spam??????? For sure he was talking spam. LCDs will last a good 10yrs. He was spoofing to you about that insurance purely because he gets commission for selling it to you. Do your own research, but take anything a salesman in Currys or any such store with a big bag of salt. I would align them with car salesman & auctioneers .Their mantra is "Screw the customer in any way you can"

You don't need insurance if it fails in less than 2 years. You need to enforce your statuary rights which basically gives you a 2 year guarantee under EC rules.
