Husband made redundant.......how to amend my tax credits?

    Hi there

    Hope ye can help. OH made redundant last April. Long finger job 'n all that but havnt done anything yet on amending my tax credits & am wondering what to do / where to begin?

    If you are jointly assessed for taxation purposes just ring your local paye number, link below. Ask the staff member you speak to, to move what rate band and credits they can. Keep in mind they have to leave enough to cover your husbands earnings until April + any Jobseekers benefit he has received as its taxable.

    Ring your local Tax office they will help advise, if you have registered for PAYE anytime you can do it yourself as far as I know.

    if your husband paid tax on his redundancy , remember to claim top-slicing relief in 2013

    All of the above is correct. Can also call to local tax office in person (i found them v nice) - bring your husband's p45 & RP50 (redundancy payout form)
