Just a happy story for a change. I was recently looking for a tow bar for a Jag xj6 and found that they dont exactly grow on trees, not secondhand, at least. They are available, but the cost tended to be a bit excessive I thought. I would have preferred to have spent my money here at home, but after looking further afield, I came across a UK company on ebay, called P F Jones. Long story short, got my tow bar, brand new in packaging, complete with socket and wiring, tow ball, all fittings, nuts and bolts and even a rubber boot to protect the ball. Full fitting and wiring diagram, including connectors etc. Including postage from the UK (approx €54) it came in at just under €250.00 allowing for conversion. Delivery was stated at 3-5 working days and it arrived on the 5th day. No affiliation, just a satisfied customer.

A tow bar on a XJ just seems wrong imo. :(

Yes, I agree, but it is a necessary evil. I thought about a detachable/retractable one, but very costly. Still, as it's only for occasional use, I can unbolt the ball hitch and minimise the look. Nice to know it's there though, if I get rear ended!

How very "Jeremy Clarkson" of you, lol. I won't be pulling a caravan, ever, never.
