    Hi,

Just wondering was the aptitude test you had to do the analytical reasoning one? If so any chance you could tell me what its like and how you prepared? Am doing aptitude tests with them on Wednesday for a trainee accountant position and am kinda nervous as have never done these before!

Hope the interview went well in the end by the way!

    Most apptitude tests are similar.

English reasoning-They give you a passage to read then you answer questions on it

What shape comes next-sequence of shapes you pick the next one

Box folding-a box layed out flat with different shapes on it and you are asked
which is the only box can be made from it(multiple picture choice)

Numerical reasoning-Basic maths, percentages, adding and multiplying fractions

I have the same test on Wednesday. Did you find any sample tests. I did the Morrisby aptitude test for a different role (AIB Graduate Programme) back in July so I assume its not the same one.

    Hi there

I had an interview with ELS earlier this year, the two interviewers were lovely people and very friendly.

The interview covered the following things
    - education
    - the way you work (planning, proactive, motivated) etc.
    - types of work that you enjoy
    - performance indicators in a business

They did ask some trick questions such as:
"Do you think the banks are to blame for the recession?"
"What would you change so that a recession wouldn't happen again"
    total sh!t-test questions

We also discussed things like mortgage interest relief, and debt forgiveness - which were two really hot topics in the news that week. Maybe read the Business sections of the papers every day in the run up to the interview so you're on the button when these questions come out.

I didn't get the job unfortunately - but it sounded like a great position. Really interesting work.
The area where I let myself down was "not knowing enough about the position and ELS". Kinda disappointing because I could only read the information that had been provided and what I could find online, and it was vague enough about what the day-to-day is like.

Make sure you're finely tuned in regard to the economy and how businesses "in trouble" are getting treated.

    Best of luck
