A fella I know (from Athlone aswell as luck would have it!) has been shaving his head because of male pattern baldness since he was 18. It doesn't matter what age you are as long as you don't have a strangely shaped head it looks fine. You'll be used to it in no time! Go for it I say.

Started to go bald when I was 18/19. Took the plunge to shaving it when a South African bloke on a ladder above me pointed out just how bald I was and that it was time to go. Best thing I ever did. **** hair.

clancy do you shave it yourself?

I had to start shaving it at 23.

Been doing it 10 years. Really its no big deal at all.

Ghogie buy yourself a shaver in argos or somewhere like that.

You can pick one up for around €40.

Once you start doing it yourself its no trouble.

There are cures. People like to believe in the whole 'preserve your dignity, shave your head approach', but Finasteride has an 80% chance of maintaining hair, and a 40% chance of regrowth. And, if you react well to Finasteride (there's a 10% chance you won't), minoxidil will regrow hairs, and failing that, a very slight transplant will restore you to your natural pre-receding state.

This crap about 'oh, bruce willis/jason statham, they're bald' is the most irrelevant and stupid reference ever. I hate that. Most Irish men; they're not Bruce Willis, nor Jason Statham, nor do they have the money, looks, nor fame to justify that statement.
