My newborn is getting more playful - can anyone link me to a playmat that they recommend?

    Thanks

We got a Tiny Love playmat as a gift. Lots of toys and a mirror for baby to play with. I found it a bit thin, I put it on a blanket as well.

we have http://www.mamasandpapas.com/product-light-sound-playmat-gym-lotty-ladybird/759482707/type-i/ it is brilliant but buy one that you can throw in the washing machine.
They love the over head toys and the different toy textures.

We had this one and our son played with it until he was 9 months old. We got it as a present and I'm sure it was expensive but definitely worth it.

We had this one (and its for sale now too - immaculate condition) and ds loved it. There are a lot of perks and is machine washable.

Yeah we had this one too, my Mother got it for us.. it was great (+1 for putting it on a blanket though)

When we were finished using it as a play mat, I unhooked all the little toys and hung them around his playpen :) and now they're hanging in his playroom and he still plays with them :D

This was our third playmat! First one had no little gadgets to occupy baby and second one was as thin as a rich tea biscuit. Loved this one as it has the padding to protect baby's head and plenty of entertainment with the toys. Only negative was that there wasn't a music player built in as some playmats have but I'm sure that bothered me more than my LO.

We got this one for our LO and she loves it, she gets more and more interested with the toys and the sounds they make every day. It is a bit thin but just shove a blanket under it. Ya can machine wash it too which is handy

    we had this one:

    babysplayplace.jpg

it was a 'bright starts play place'

the sides were cushioned and padded, so while small she could roll over against them and not hurt herself, when she got older we'd let down all the sides and she'd use it as a place to nap.

she adored the toys that came with it and at 3 years old still has a few she still plays with.

The mirror was one of her favorites (she loved looking at herself) along with listening to the musical bee, and chewing on the butterflies.

its also handy as a picnic mat in later years! ;)

I had the pink tiny love one and one from Ikea with just one arch and three toys hanging. The tiny love one is very thin and she only liked it for about a week at around 2 months, after that she was getting frustrated trying to pull the toys down. Then she got another one with padded cushions all around (http://album.lilliputiens.be/fr/recherche/?name=tapis%20d%27%C3%A9veil&age=&type=&family=), I would NOT recommend these if your baby is a very early crawler. Mine liked to be on her stomach pulling herself around from a young age an the cushions were cramping her style. Now she's 5 months and we just keep the ikea mat without the arch and put a playpen around her. Had I known I wouldn't have gotten any mats at all! just a comfy blanket!
