Hi, if a person where to die and their car was not mentioned in the will, how would a relative go about selling it (car ownership form cannot be signed etc)? The person has long let the relative(s) know the car will be his and to sell it on as he cannot drive. The car in question is not worth much, but the relative has a buyer for it. Thanks!

If the will doesn't mention a residuary legatee - that's a person who scoops up any assets or money not mentioned in the will - then any assets remaining are disposed of as if the deceased had died intestate.

74.—Where the will of a testator effectively disposes of part only of his estate, the remainder shall be distributed as if he had died intestate and left no other estate

I think the op knows that I think he is more interested in how to get the car ownership form handled since the log book isn't signable by the last owner

Get the executor to sign the transfer of ownership paperwork.
