witness summons

    I received a witness summons for a civil case but am being admitted to hospital on day of case for a procedure-am i obliged to go to court?

    You should inform the person who served the witness summons on you i.e. solicitor, that you can't attend Court on that date.

    Afaik now, especially if your evidence might be crucial to the case and therefore might have to be adjourned because you can't attend, you might have to provide proof that you will be in hospital.
