Just wondering if anyone has any experience with either?
The sewing machine I'd need for both dressmaking and quilting. Am going to the show in Dublin in a few weeks and just wondering should I hold out for a better model for a reasonable price or just go with this one?

If you're wanting a machine for quilting as well as general sewing, I'd be inclined to hold out for a better machine at a reasonable price. I'm presuming the show you're going to in Dublin is the Knitting and Stitching- if so , check out the singer sewing centre stand from Waterford, he was there last year so am presuming he'll be there again. He stocks all makes of machines at reasonable prices- check his website at http://www.sewingmachinesireland.com You could have a look at it and then have a chat with him at the show. I bought a Janome machine from him couple of years ago for a very good price and he sent it by courier to me in Dublin!!! You should get a decent enough 1 for 200-300. Best of luck with your search. Sorry, don't know enough about overlockers to be of any help.

    I'd agree with Merch.

I'd concur with the other posters. You could get a refurbished machine at the Singer shop or the Electronic Sewing Machine Centre on Parnell St that would last you a lifetime!

    Good luck!
