Changing the locks on the internal doors..

The latch door handle on the inner hallway door in our duplex has given up the ghost. I was thinking of changing it to a proper mortice type with a keyhole for proper locking etc As it is a fire door and also single barrel the choice of replacements I would think are quite limited and fitting a larger mortice type with seperate lock would be quite hard I reckon.

So has anyone changed any of the door handles / locks etc internally? Be very interested to hear how difficult it was and / or what type of lock you chose.

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

It's not that easy to install mortise lock as it was shown on this video. In fact, you need to use the lock mortiser, otherwise you will probably destroy your door, especially if you're not too good at using tools.
