My weather Station is the WH1081 cheap and cheerful.

Over the last two years I seem to recording more rain than the official EICK Station at Cork Airport. This has been intriguing me so I've added a 25mm rain collector and been observing rain collection in other vessels as well.

The storm over the 16~17th Oct 2012 has thrown up a tremendous oddity.

    16th Tuesday Oct 2012 Rain: 10.1mm
    17th Wednesday Oct 2012 Rain: 11.5mm

    ME: 30mm and 14mm

My WS: 17th do note that the times of recording are different: Midnight to midnight against my physical gauges 08:00 in the morning, however two days added together should match.
    This shows 35mm Rain

    Hi gbee,

You've got to remember that you've got to take other factors into consideration.
Your height above sea level compared to EICK - EICK is at what, 600 feet ASL?
Also, the direction of the prevailing weather when collecting the rain.
    There's probably ithers as well - just a thought.
