That is better than the littlewoods offering.

I would go for a laptop for college being honest. If the budget, if the budget could stretch a bit, you might get something a bit lighter and smaller for not all that much money.

Netbooks are not really suitable for college work. Screens way too small, the size of the back or front of a dvd box. Get a decent 14 inch or 15 inch laptop. Theres ultrabooks available that are available in 14 inch but there fairly expensive, around 600 quid or more

    AMD Dual Core Processor E-450 (1.65GHz, 1MB L2 Cache)

Thats not a great processor to be honest. The Toshiba one has

    Intel® Core™ i3-380M Processor (3M Cache, 2.53 GHz)

The more Cache the better. Nearly a ghz in different in speed and an extra 2MB cache which is one of the main things for speed. 1MB isn't great at all.

Question away! Doesn't bother me at all:)

The i3 in the one I linked would be a much better processor, and well worth the little extra cash. Toshiba are a good brand, I would reckon she'd get 4+ years out of it if it was well maintained. Netbooks are too small for real typing work in college.
