Well i decided to bravè the elements with so much rain in the last 16 hours i had one place to go . Dog & gun & decoys wind was howling this evening with showers of heavy rain 6.30 setup decoys out was not long before i seen the first few mallard let them to the splash behind next few same flight line but this time i got shots at 2 nice splash of them when the landed . I wait a few more mins max looked to the right of me 6 more dropping like stones in to my decoys i let them land 30 yards away few more followed the same line but flared up straight to me as i was behind a bale i upped the gun shot a right and a left back down again the other mallard started to circle 30 or more i dropped 2 more and left it at that . I stayed there till 7.40 seen another 40 mallard flighting around worked max as he picked all 6 nice evening flighting

Nice one! I can't see the recipes thread anywhere, but if you want one to try, I had a go at this today.

Roast the duck breasts in an open pyrex dish, covered in slices of black pudding and oranges, until they're pink through and with a crackly skin. Serve with potato gratin and the black pudding from the dish. It was absolutely delicious.

Good to know great minds think alike! I just threw it together from a few ideas yesterday morning, but it's definitely worth a try. I've another breast I might use the same way today, too.
