I am in practice outside of Dublin for 5.5 years and a qualified chartered accountant for 2 of those years and I am on €34,000 and my subs and CPD courses are paid for. I suppose I am stupid for staying when I could possibly earn more in Dublin but I am looking to gain more relevant experience now for future prospects.

Thanks for the info, I am just moving from practice to industry, (4 yrs in practice 1 of them after I qualified) so I suppose I should be expecting to earn less than what I was on....

Perhaps, if you expect it. Industry usually pays better than practice.
