Not sure if this is in right section so apologies if not.

Wondering if anyone has any experience of cluster headaches, had my first dose of them recently, Im not one to experience headaches or migranes and this was horrific!

Hospital told me I will have to mix and match with drugs to find ones that work for me, currently taking Ketal and doesnt seem to be doing much. Anyone got any recommendations or suggestions?

Never experienced anything like these headaches before, im 31 and got told these are common in men in their 30s especially if you never suffered from headaches before?

I suffered from these types of headaches, I went to a consultant, he put me on a 3 month course of amitriptyline low dose, it worked.
But that's not to say you have the same.....get your doctor to refer you to a consultant.

her doctor told her it was down to her low levels of blood iron, maybe that might be something worthing checking out !

My Mum was hspitalised earlier this year with cluster headaches and she honestly thought her time had come, the pain was that bad. She's been referred to Dublin and was given Epilim to treat; she's eased of them but awaiting the appointment. Massive sympathy to you OP.

Hi, I have been suffering from cluster headaches for many years now. I would really like to meet other cluster headachers, I am in Galway. Get in touch and we can share stuff about what's working for you and what is not. I have found out some really interesting stuff as regards getting pain free.

You have my sympathy OP. I used to get them, and was referred to a neurologist who put me on Sanomigran, more as a preventative than cure. They did help a bit, but after I was diagnosed coeliac the cluster headaches disappeared. I don't know if it was coincidence, my consultant had never seen that happen before, but they never came back. I do hope you find some relief, they are hell.

My 12 year old daughter had suffered from classic migraine since she was 6, this has recently manifested into chronic cluster head aches, its a living hell for her and she had been in pain since the beginning of April, and not in school, and therefore I am not working so I can be at home to take care of her...... Shes had a few medications, is under the care of a neurologist, and is currently on amitryptiline for the last few weeks, she has slightly improved but shes still getting up to a dozen attacks a day... Again if anyone is interested in meeting up, I'd love to.. We are in Limerick but will travel...
