That is such a broad question.

    Kindle Fire

    Galaxy Tab; Galaxy Note

Upcoming Windows Tablets (Including a Transformer Prime)

    The Transformer Prime (Android)

the list goes on and on and on.

    Go to youtube
    Type in "ipad vs"
You'll get many side-by-side reviews of various tablets.

Me, I'd go with a Transformer tablet as it can be used as a notebook too (with the dock)

Yes, it is. I was looking for a recommendation from a boards user who has found a tablet (apart from ipad) that they are personally enamored with and the reasons why because I don't know a whole lot about them. I should've specified that my price limit will be around €300. Thanks.

Ainol Aurora 2 looks very, very nice to me. 1.5GHz, dual core processor. 7 inch IPS screen. Good battery life. 91 euro delivered from aliexpress if you're not in a hurry.

I played with the Aurora (its predecessor) and it is just lovely. The 2 is really just a bump in processing power AFAIK. Pretty sure (99% sure) that this will be my Christmas present to myself.

edit: link. Not recommending seller etc. etc.

I've just recieved one I have to say that it's very very nice indeed. Only had it for 4 days now. Great screen, quick, good battery so far, wifi works fine, solid build. It shipped from China so I got stung for duty and had some Chinese apps preinstalled where were easy enough to remove. I'm using it with the preinstalled firmware, haven't had any serious issues with the Play store aside from Youtube not working - I got another build and its now ok though. It's got a good developer community behind it so theres plenty of support.

Is yours the aurora 2? Yeah, I do expect to get stung for customs alright. That's ok. 23%? What's the battery life like? How long did it take to ship? and lastly, where did you buy it from? Thanks!

Yes, its the aurora 2. I got it from direct tablet pc via amazon uk, it was 118 euro. It was shipped via Singapore post and took less than a week to get here, though it went straight to customs. After a bit of a wait I received the device but paid an extra 33 euro (23% vat plus an additional postage fee, thanks guys!). It took about 2 weeks to arrive but if I'd been on the ball it would have taken a shorter time.

So the final price was around 150 euro. I'm going to the US in two weeks and I'm looking at picking up a 7" Galaxy tab for my brother for about the same price. Hmmmm.

So far battery life is good, I get around 6 - 7 hours with wifi on and the screen at 100% brightness. I watched an episode of boardwalk empire on it last night and have to say the picture quality and sound is outstanding. Battery use was about 5% - 7%. Playback was a little laggy from time to time but that might be down to my choice of micro sd card.

If I did it again I'd do better research and pick one up from a UK reseller. The price works out about the same but you'd avoid messing around with customs.
