Hi all, first time posting a message. I'm looking for info on slurry separators. Have sent emails to various companies both here (as in NI) and abroad. Got no replies though.
Reasons for investing; Ability to use liquid after the cows graze a paddock.
    Reduced fertlizer purchases
    Increased capacity in slurry tank.

Mobile units are available. This could be hired out in an effort to help pay for the equipment. Not too sure of the market though!!!!?
I'm in the Cork area, but do'nt know of anyone who has one. Anyone anywhere?
Btw the solids (compost) is used as bedding cow cubicles once it has dried out in the US. Not too sure it would work here as the weather is not hot enough I think.

ps it's bucketing rain here now. Shed work 2moro again:mad:

I came across 3 different types when I was doing work in Northern Ireland. I think the cheapest one was 12 grand (sterling). Serious cash! But there might be lots cheaper versions out there.

I hear ABP are installing them in their meat factories, might be worth a look there

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

Don't know much about them but a lot of the farms i was on over i the uk had them, thought they were a good idea as all the solids were spread on the maize ground or on grass in the winter, and as you stated above the liquids were easily spread anywhere weather permitting.
do you have slatted tanks or an overground slurry store? the ones i seen were on the overground tanks
Post up any info you get back, will be interesting to hear how you get on

    Ennis mart have one.
They are a simple enough machine. The real cost i'd imagine, is the cost of running it. Electricity aint cheap.
