Was just checking a quote for a 1.4. Quote came back 600 quid more than quotes I'd been getting the last few weeks with the same details. How the hell could the quotes shot up that much? :(

Where are you checking? If youre using online quoting systems then dont bother wasting your time; the same site once game me two quotes €200 apart for exactly the same details on consecutive days.

Ring the insurer/broker and talk to someone; this is only way to ensure that you get the best quote possible.

Sorry maybe I should have gave more info in the 1st post. 24, male, 2 years driving full no claims as named driver. Being shopping around for a car with a few months now. I've kept track of quotes from all insurance companies online whici varied for 850 to 1200 approx.
Like I said in the first post, went to get a quote for this Ford Focus 1.4 that I'm hoping to buy this weekend, and got this mad quote of 1400!! I know this law on gender balance is meant to be implemented soon but WTF!!
Fecking annoying as I've been saving like a mad yoke and now I have put more of my budget into insurance if it's what it seems!!!
