    Howdee all,

In theory, this should read like the perfect outcome.

Went on a few dates with a very nice lady recently. Someone I would have know around, but never thought for a minute she would have been interested. So, all good. It was she who asked me. Better again!

I find it hard to enjoy the moment with this person. The few times I was out, I was thinking "How the heck did I pull this off? I'm bluffing and will be found out!". Or else I'm thinking ahead about things that may or may not happen. Which is why I should enjoy the moment and ride the wave. (no pun intended). As my brain is thinking of all sorts except enjoying the moment, I am slightly more reserved than I would be around good friends. Which is doing me no favours I reckon. I suppose I just need to relax. It's hard, as it's kind of surreal that I have been out with this person.......surreal...........

Yay for you. You are right though, you should be like the cat that got the cream but you're letting your insecurities rule you. Assuming you've been out a few times with this lady and it looks like it might continue, I think you should try different kinds of activities instead of more formal dates where there's almost an interview element. Like a shared experience that spurs interaction like bowling or horse riding.

Assuming you don't feel you've harmed your chances with continuing with this lady at this stage, I think that there will be a day in the future when it would be more appropriate to mention your issue with her. I was in a similar situation with a girl in college and I did make a balls of it to my eternal regret. In hindsight, it was simply self sabotage. This is all a question of perspective. I think that you have to TRUST HER that she sees something in you that maybe you don't see yourself. Maybe she will tell you what these things are some time. In the meantime, chill out, be a little Fonzie and don't let the voice in your head get in the way of something wonderful.
