Am looking for some good energy giving snacks to have in work.

recently, by 2pm, i cannot keep my eyes open and by 4pm, i am so hungry, i feel sick.

this is only a new thing, my diet hasnt changed. this is my typical food

breakfast - 30g Bran flakes (porridge is what the devil uses to wallpaper)

lunch - large bowl of homemade soup lots of veg and lentils

Dinner - various veg, quorn, eggs, couscous, rice, pasta etc. just the usual.

I have 2 cups of coffee, 1 cup of tea and about 4-8 pints of water

Yoghurt, a banana or a flapjack would be my preferences...
When do you get lunch by the way? I have brekkie at around 8am. In work for 9am and am hungry by 10.30/11am. Snack as per the above and this will keep me going nicely 'til lunch.
I'd have a similar lunch to you.
Might have another snack after work at 6ish until I can get dinner on and then dinner (like yours) at maybe 7.30/8pm which does me for the evening.
    Hope that helps!

    I'm guessing your vegetarian?
Some things that could help, having eggs for breakfast bran flakes is a pretty poor breakfast.
I also think you should look to upping your fat and protein intake.
Transform has a bar that will give you some good fats. It's on his website here. It could be a good snack for you.
Do you know how much of what(carbs/protein/fat) your eating? and how many calories?

I take it you have your dinner at home after work? In that case you're starving yourself at work. Get some protein into you.

    1000 is very very low.

    What height/weight are you?

    Do you eat eggs?

Yes like I said, you are starving yourself which explains the lack of energy.

1000 calories? How much do you weigh, 1000 calories is not enough calories for anyone to sustain.

    Even a 4 foot 10, 110lb girl has a BMR of 1300 calories.

Porridge or museli and egg for breakfast will keep you full till lunchtime :D Its no wonder you're starving. And I'd throw in a good spoon of cod liver oil too  (not into the porridge?

Holy Moly - I'd have to crawl out of the office every evening if I only ate that much :( Tranform's bars are a great suggestion. Otherwise, how about some natural yogurt with blueberries and/or raspberries? (optional small scoop of protein powder mixed in if you use protein powder).

Me, I'm a big fan of Belvita biscuits. Very tasty and often to be found on sale for half price in my local Dunnes anyway.

Wow how do you have energy to concentrate? The diet looks bad, you need to adjust it to include a variation of nutrients.
