Remote control is not working for my POLO, i think the led is missing. Wondering where in Dublin I can repair my key? Preferably north Dublin.

    Thanks.

Is your key the normal type or the one that flicks out?

It's not battery, it's the sensor that's missing. If you look in the picture above, it's in that little hole on the left from the key.

You are right it is an LED but that is only a light on the key which is operated by the button in the middle it is not a remote. You might get a replacement LED from a Volkswagen dealer on the north side. You would need call them and ask can the bulb be replaced separately to the key. Also there is a battery behind the button.

Thats not a remote locking key so it will never work the remote locking on your car. Are you sure your car even has remote locking?

The little hole, as said above, is for a tiny bulb for a torch on the key. They are not even a led so they dont be that bright. You can buy a key off ebay and gut it for the workings of the light if you want. The key just splits with a small flat screwdriver

sean1141 is correct. That key is does not operate remote locking.

What your missing there is a small bulb. I'd imagine most VW dealers would have one in stock. Part number is N 903 145 01. The part number of the battery is N 902 624 01 but I'd say the battery can be bought cheaper elsewhere.

    What year is the Polo?

    It's Polo 6n2, year 2000.

Ok if it's not for remote lock? How do you operate alarm then? Thanks

The alarm should have a separate fob. The alarm may also have been connected to the central locking which could have made the central locking remote operated.

It's quite possible that the alarm may have been faulty in the past and may no longer be in use.

Should have, but i guess i can't trust that now either? How can i check if it really has alarm?

I dont think that it would have a factory fitted alarm and no remote locking. Has it even central locking?? My friends 00 one has none although that dose look like a central locking key. Her key has no light on it AFAIK.

Any vw i have seen with factory fitted alarm had remote central locking. There may have been an aftermarket alarm fitted but you would have a separate fob for this.

When I was changing battery, it gave a beep which says that the alarm is present. I'm not smart about this stuff, just want to know if there is is a way to know if alarm is fitted.
