A good way to build Ryback would be for them to have him flirt with the idea of attacking Punk.

Punk chooses to face Cena at HIAC, a not fully fit Cena.

He beats the crap out of him only for Cena to do his superman routine, until Ryback comes to ringside and lays him out handing Punk the win. He then declares he is a "Paul Heyman guy".

For the next few months he can be to Punk what Batista was to HHH, leading to the inevitable face turn down the line, by the stage he'll have more exposure to the main event scene.
