    Hi,

Just closing on our first house and looking to replace the two gas fires.

I'm looking for any advice on a good, preferably reasonably priced or even cheap supplier of fires around or online?

The two existing fires are very old, gas fires, with no fireplaces just marbe hearths, so we are looking at replacing with two modern wall hung gas fires.

If it's against any rules to reply you can PM me.

    Much appreciated.

There's a place in Cable Street whos name escapes me now that are quite reasonable. Cliffords also supply fires as do C&F Quadrant in Cherry Orchard. Modern gas fires are up to 70% efficient and more but they are not cheap. Don't get a cheap fire or indeed any gas appliance because you will get what you pay for. And don't get a decorative fuel effect (DFE) fire as you would be better of lighting a bundle of 50 euro notes in your fire place.

Thanks a lot for that some decent advice there. It's our first house and we're on a budget but I don't want to waste money so will take that advice on board.

    Has anybody any brand recommendations?
