Just wondering what if any alcohol you drink in a typical week. That being a mon-sun, not going out etc...normal working week and a weekend in...

Are you a victim of wine-o-clock or are you a weekend only drinker...

Interested in all age groups....18+ male and female...workers/non workers etc...

    Why are you interested?

I don't really drink often so a normal week it'd be none.

None. Gets in the way of bodybuilding too much.

Sometimes drink when I go out.

On average, about once a month. I'm not a massive fan of being drunk and find it affects my training too much, so I leave it for special occasions only.

As a result, when I do drink, I'm a complete lightweight.

So far this year Ive had 4 occasions where Ive drank more than 1 drink at a time. Other than that its just been 1 drink before a meal while out.

So on a normal week it be none, but on an occasional week itd be 1, and on a very very occasional week itd be more than 1.

On a normal week it'd just be a drink or two on a Friday or Saturday night. I rarely go out since I moved house (very few friends in the area and the few that I have are very busy with studies etc). So it's normally a thing of a can or two or a bit of wine in front of the telly and an open fire. Depends if I've taken the notion when I've been to Tesco and gotten any in, though.

Drink maybe once a month. So it would average out at a lot less than one drink per day.

Used to drink heavily on Saturday nights, cut it out as it was affecting my training too much and was also making Monday at work hell! Not as easy to get back into the swing of things after a heavy session like when I was 18-19. Now I drink a few small whiskeys on special occasions, find it doesn't effect me as much the next day and i'm less likely to end up in rounds with people.

Friend of mine drinks between 40-50 units a night twice a week, have tried to get him to stop but doesn't listen to a word. Now he weighs 22 stone and has a beer belly that looks like something you would draw.

6-12 pints on a night out. I used to go out two nights a week but have had to cut down to 1 night usually as its my final year in college. Most of my friends would be about the same.

I would bet that is more to do with post pub eating, and daily eating more than the drink. 50 Irish units is 50x12.67ml of pure alcohol, 633.5ml which is 25.4 cans of 5% beer or 51 cans a week if doing it twice. I have 2 thin friends who would have put away that easily years ago.

It snowballs with your size, you need more to get drunk.

Anyone who is drinking 51 cans a week has a serious alcohol problem.

Since I emigrated I quit drinking when I realised the stereotype that Irish people are drunks is true... we think an alcoholic is a homeless drunk asleep on the street, when in fact there are alcoholics everywhere you look in Ireland... it's terrible.

I drink no alcohol now, but when I was back in Ireland I would have drank maybe 12 - 16 (craft) beers a week.

when I go out, I go all out, maybe 12 drinks or so.

used to be maybe every 2 weeks, probably every 3 weeks or so now.

For me it varies from week to week, month to month. I was a horrendous drinker when I was younger, but I'm getting better.

I might have one or two pints of 4% lager on a Tuesday or Thursday in the pub, and share a bottle of red wine with the husband on a Saturday night. Or I might have nothing during the week, a glass of red wine on the Friday night, and a bottle or two of Corona on the Saturday. Then again, some weeks I'll have nothing at all.

There will still be an occasional weekend when I go horribly overboard (probably once every four or five months). At the worst, this would be like last weekend - Friday night I had 6 vodka-and-ginger-ales (over the course of 6 hours), and on the Saturday I drank an entire bottle of white wine and a glass of fizzy white wine to myself over the course of an evening. I was very sick after that though - I can't drink like that anymore (and nor should I!). It used to be the case that I'd have a beer or a glass of wine every night, but I've weaned myself off that habit. Does nothing for my temperament, or my weight.

I'm off the booze for a month to give myself a break, now.

I drink on special occasions such as weddings but that's it.

I find my diet goes right out the window when I'm drinking and I end up eating Supermacs and am ill for a few days.

    This is it.

Well, alcohol makes me really depressed and I'm depression-prone so that's another reason for me to distance myself from the stuff, but it is also the diet thing in a big way. I think that's why so many people gain weight when their drinking increases. I feel no push to eat remotely healthily when hungover, no willpower whatsoever.

It was very easy for me to cut down, I don't particularly enjoy the whole thing.

6-12 pints two nights a week on average. Keep saying Ill take a few weeks off but then someone always persuades me to head out.

Luckily Im unusual in that once I have a few pints I have zero appetite so doesnt affect my eating like some others have mentioned but I know its a lot of empty calories every week.

Probably in the region of 4-8 pints a week total when I'm not training. (probably zero pints a week most of the time I am training).

2-3 on a Friday, 2-3 on a Saturday. Occasional school night drink with an episode of Breaking Bad or whatever.

I don't really bother getting drunk. Don't enjoy it. Nicely relaxed would be all I'm after.

I'm about the same as you, 2/3 on a Saturday and Sunday night, none on Friday's because i play for the local club on a Saturday. Maybe one or two on a week night if there is a match on or whatever!!

3-4 drinks on Friday, Saturday and sometimes a Sunday too and that's only if I'm not heading out when it could be up to 10 drinks or even more for a wedding. :o
I know it's not good but it doesn't make any difference to my appetite or fitness unless I've had a serious session maybe twice a year when it takes me a day or two to recover and i lose my appetite.I don't think alcohol affects my weight either as I'm always 8 stone give or take a pound or two even before I started drinking. Might change down the line though I suppose.
