Tooth Still Sore After Filling

Got a filling in one of my upper teeth almost two months ago. It was very sore with a couple of weeks so I went to the dentist about it and he just filled it. Straight after the filling the tooth was still very sore and was so for a few days.

It went away for a while but the pain is back again. If I go back to the dentist about it will I have to pay to get the filling extracted and put back in again?

Or might it be something more serious that the filling didn't cure in the first place?

The best thing is probably to give your dentist a ring. If they're decent they should see you again and fix any problem that is relating to the filling for free (eg the bite might be too high and have to be filed down some more). This is what happened to me before (took about 6 months for it to settle down fully...)

However if there is another issue that is expensive to fix it would be understandable that they would have to charge for that.
