    Hi,
Thinking of investing in Golfbuddy Platinum ll, any opinions out there on how good they are?

Found one online for €180 plus shipping from the States, would duty have to be paid on it I wonder?

    Any advice greatly appreciated

Duty will definitely have to be paid upon arrival to the delivery company before they give the package.

That's incorrect, I got mine from GolfSmith in the states who use Fedex to deliver, I wasn't asked to pay duty when it was delivered, but about a week or so later I got a VAT bill from Fedex.

If they send it via UPS, you can get away without paying anything. I've had a good few clubs arrive by both UPS and Fedex, i've gotten a bill from Fedex with all of them, never with UPS.

Also Fed Ex tend to add an administration charge as well - it was €10 the last time I got caught so it is a bit of a pain!

Just allow 25% of the cost of the item + shipping. If you don't have to pay for it, then its a bonus, if you do, well it's still going to be a hell of a lot cheaper than over here.

Sorry, USPS, just the normal post. I did read a while ago how a lot of items sent via USPS get away without duty, cant remember the reason, but i know its different here to the UK, were USPS items always get caught for Duty (if not marked as a gift).

Actually have an Adams driver on the way to me via USPS at the moment.
