    Hawke endurance 3 12 50
    Hi lads,
Just about to acquire a hawke endurance scope for a centre fire .223 for a bit of foxing, anyone any experience or thoughts on it, have read that hawke are typically for air rifles but have come across some suggestions that they do the job on more powerful rifles. Any feed back appreciated.

I have used this scope [56mm] for some time now and find it great.First it was on a 223 and it was good for lamping foxes. Then i upgraded to the 243 and have used it to take deer into the dusk and dawn.I love the red dot as it is so fast to get onto target.Never had a problem with shifting zero-a lot of people slag off the Hawke scopesbut the 30mm Endurances are rated for centrefire.
    Hope this helps-safe shooting.

Endurance 30 scopes are OK on .223 rifles and since they offer illuminated reticle (rare in this price range) are a good choice for foxing in the dusk or dawn.

However for rifles in calibers like .308 I would rather suggest something like Minox ZA3 3-9x40, Vortex Viper 3-9x40 or something similar. This scopes lack illumination and bigger lenses but are optically and mechanically better than Endurance 30 scopes.
