I've been involved in PM's for a while, and have managed to make around 20k since first investing 5 years back. no i'm thinking about buying up an acre of land with a small cottage, there seem to be plnty going for 20k-70k.

My question to you is, what would be the best way to get a 50,000 loan to cover the potential full cost of the property. credit union... bank?

Myself and my girlfriend will be doing this together, and ideally want to have the 50k paid for in 3-4 years.

you have been looking on done deal and dreaming about a little cottage on an acre, but reality is most of these cottages are in the middle of nowhere, miles away from any amenity's and most of them are uninhabitable I was born and reared in a fairly remote part of Ireland and have seen plenty of people come and go, come to live the good life but find that its not what its cracked up to be , a lot are trying to sell up and get out now, you could offer to rent with a view to buying if you decide that its the life for you
