Any suggestions on decent nursery where I may pick up a couple of specimen trees for a Japanese garden? Not overly impressed by what I've seen, but figure there has to be a someone with choice stock. Thanks.

Being from the Midlands I would go to each of these :

    Dunnes of durrow in Laois

Dundrum Nurseries in Dundrum Co Tipp

    And Kelly's streamstown near Mullingar

All have a great range and Kelly's iin always top quality

I got some lovely Japanese forest grass from Johnstown a while back. They seem to have a section for Japanese stuff.

If you are in Cork, thr fota plant fair every may is where I get my japanese plants. Specialist growers attend this.

During the year, I would say O'Sullivan in Kerrypike has the best quality trees and shrubs in Cork, including a small range of japanese. He doesn't have a huge range, but the quality of his stock is always excellent.
