Yeah there is.... somewhere you can sell your classic and get back what you paid for it after restoring it :D

A storage facility where you can come and go as you want. Put the cars in cages and each 'renter' had to provide ID when renting a space

A lending bank is what's missing from the classic car market at the moment. Nobody seems to have money all they want to do is swop. I'm buying up stuff at the moment for half and less than half of what they were selling for 3 or four years ago. The market here's in meltdown at the moment and the only stuff i'm selling is leaving the country and not just to the UK either.

You have the government to blame for that..

The cost of the disposal of the used chemicals is crazy money hence companies have to charge so much for the service. Chrome plating is expensive everywhere.. even in the USA.

I haven't found it cheaper in the UK, Poland seemed to be a fraction of the cost .

A lad I work with had parts for his BSA chromed in Poland, nice job, very reasonable too. ...but he is Polish, if I needed anything done I would ask him to look after it for me.

I've had problems in the UK but none in Poland to be honest, if anything the Polish were very helpful whereas the Brits couldn't care less.

First thing would be an exporting operation linking sellers with buyers internationally - NOBODY who's selling is going to say 'I want my classic to stay in Ireland' if they're getting good money for it.
Vice versa those trucks / containers could bring needed stuff back on the return trip

The market here is not great ATM, but hopefully things will turn up again sooner rather than later

Everything and anything really, if there's a profit to be had, i'm in.

Best of luck with it . By the way when exporting do you organise it or do you let all that to the buyer?

I think I have an idea.

A product in an aerosol that not alone prevents rust, but undos the damage caused by rust!

Let's call it 'ANTI-FeO, Car restoration in a can'

    Dig out yer Chemistry sets!:D

Remember that brush on rust converter - left the red rust looking black

Remember a salesman, Dominick, in Sweeney&Fortes - they used to say he put old sump oil in his hair every morning to keep it shiny black. That chap would be better advised to do the same instead of gelling his gray mop :o

I'd pay pretty good money for renting a workshop on weekends. Any Monday-Friday mechanics consider it?

Great idea except for four things ...

    1. Making it work because people are stupid
    2. Insurance
    3. Theft
    4. H&S

This idea was tried out in Birmingham in the 70's and it was a total mess. You paid by the day or half day, pre booked. If you had 'equipment' like Oxy bottles or special tools it was a nightmare not to loose them.
