    Hi
Does anyone know if this box can receive both Irish and UK Terrestrial Digital.

    Manufacturer: Walker, Model : WP12DTB-R

I live in North Drogheda and can receive Irish and UK Terrestrial Digital on a Walker TV from an aerial. I am now on the lookout for an STB for some older TV's.

    Thanks

It is Saorview approved, any Saorview box will receive Irish transmissions and regular NI transmissions (most of the channels). It will probably not receive NI HD channels, but the older TVs will not show HD anyway.

It should as Saorview's (DVB-T)/MPEG-4 video decoding standard is backwards comaptible with (DVB-T)/MPEG-2 used on Freeview. It won't receive the FreeviewHD channels as they use a different standard, DVB-T2/MPEG-4, maybe you should consider a cheap FreeviewHD STB over the border which should receive both the Saorview/Freeview/FreeviewHD channels.

    Thanks for the quick replys.

I was not sure if (DVB-T)/MPEG-4 video decoding standard was backward compatible.

    Thanks again.
