Insurance and arranging BYOB gigs

Has anyone had experience of this?

Having got a PA, I'm thinking of doing some gigs in places other than bars and let folk bring their own poison.

If I had to pay insurance on the venue though, I think it would be a non-starter.

Does anyone know if this is usually the case?
Can anyone recommend some venues to check out? I'm thinking community halls at the moment.

    Thanks.

I was at an epic BYOB gig in the factory studios in Ringsend. There was a small number of security working it (3 I think) That might be another thing to think of?

The band was White Hills btw and I highly recommend them.

Ps: I'm looking into doing something like this too, so if you need a hand, you got it.
