Think Dublin should be able to get to the top of Division 1B.Some tough games against Wexford and Antrim away and a tough home game against Limerick. We were unlucky to be relegated last year but I think the lads will rally hard for what is probably Dalys last year.

Division 1A may be dominated by Kilkenny or Tipp.I would look at Cork coming back an even stronger team under JBM in year 2.

Hard to tell where Dublin are really at after last year. And I wonder will they make a huge effort for the league or focus on getting back to a competitive level for the championship. Allen didn't put much effort into the league with Limerick last year but we have a stronger foundation of a more settled team this year and I'd like to see us make an effort to go and win the thing. No disrespect to the others but it should be between Dublin/Limerick to win it. Results will probably depend on which team puts a greater effort into winning the league.

Surely that's a misprint by the gaa? Why would you have matches on a Monday? And at 2pm?

That Monday is a bank holiday due to St Patricks Day falling on the Sunday. That day is reserved for clubs.

I just hope Dublin don't take the league too easily and then by the time Leinster comes round they're sub par. They've been going at a great level the past couple of years, hate to see it reversed.

I hope galway have a good run in the league and make the most of it. The way the championship is looking for next year the first competitive game galway will have will be against kilkenny in the leinster final.

I seriously don't think Dublin will take the league "too easily" as you put it, not with improving teams like Limerick, Wexford and Offaly in it. If they don't take the league seriously they can forget about promotion. Only one team gets promoted. One slip up and Dublin may struggle to reach the final, or have an away fixture in it. IMO Dublin don't appear to have as strong a panel available as previous years, while Limerick's is certainly improving.

Fancy Tipp and Wexford to win the respective leagues, think Eamon O'Shea will really want to lay down a marker with Tipp and rebuild their confidence, have also heard word that Wexford are going very well.

I think relegation is between Cork, Waterford and Clare. Think Clare will hang on, which leaves it down to ourselves or Cork. We'll be doing well again to stay up. Tipp would be a good bet for the league I'd say, and Limerick should win the other one.

    Wexford??

Limerick generally take a while to get going, but we can't afford to spend another year in division 2. Realistically, Limerick would expect to beat Dublin/Wexford/Offaly in the Championship, so we have to replicate that in the league. It'll be tough, and we messed up last year. Hopefully the likes of Wexford are improving a lot though, it'll be good to have some really tough matches, even if we come out on the wrong side.

Yeah I was a little suprised myself, but the same man tiped Dublin to win the league two years ago and they duly obliged.

Paudie Butler who previously served as the National Development Officer is training them at the moment and has them flying.

In fairness, Wexford have some good hurlers, and I think Liam Dunne is a pretty good manager, and there's no question over Butler's credentials.

But I always thought it was a physicality/mental problem that's been holding them back.

Mind you, Limerick manager John Allen said a few years ago in an article about hurling walls that the development of those in Wexford would reap great rewards for them.

Limerick look like they are going to start slowly again, hopefully we do enough top make the final again and have warmed up enough by then to win it. We could probably do with the extra matches by the end of the league.
