Should I go to the Korean Grand Prix on Sunday?

    Hi folks,

I live in Korea and have the chance to go the race on Sunday. The ticket (for a place near a bend) plus return bus is €80.

That sounds like a good price, the problem is though, is that the bus journey is 5 hours each way. And it's on the same day.

Is it worth 10 hours on a bus in the same day to see these cars in action? My interest in F1 is minimum. I was more familiar with the era of Irvine, Schumacher, and even as far back as Hill and Mansell but know very little about the sport nowadays.

    Thoughts?

80 euro sure is cheap but if your interest is minimal, i wouldn't bother.
Best get back into the sport over the next year and then try and make a weekend out of it next year.

I'd agree, but if the OP is familiar with the Schumacher era, this will be the last chance you'll ever have to see him race in F1. I say go for it, it could even reignite your interest in it :)

I've a mate that happened to be in Bahrain for the GP this year. He'd have fairly minimal interest in F1 but decided to go and really loved it. The 10 hours on a bus is obviously the major issue for the OP but the one thing that Id say is that if you went you'd defintely get great value for 80 quid....but Im pretty sure that the bus trip would be terrible! Also it's worth noting that there was loads of delays into the track in 2010 and the 5 hour journey could take much longer!

I had the same debate about going to the korean race last year. I decided not to go then and I really wished I had. this year I have my ticket and cant wait till Sunday!

As a side note, it really is a dreadful location for a race track. For me to get there i have a 2 hour train ride to Seoul then the 5hour bus to the race, get back to Seoul 1am ish miss the last train home stay the night there. Then get the early train home just in time for work at 9.

It might re-kindle your interest in F1?
    And for €80 it's a bargain!

The bus journey would have been the fun part.

Theres a big difference between being at a **** GP and watching a **** GP on the telly. I should know, I was at Budapest this year ! It's all about the atmosphere over the whole weekend. Although I'm not sure there was even much of that in Korea..
