Epoxy is strong stuff, I prefer JB weld to Araldite for applications where you need to fill an area as well.
If that was done properly it should be OK.
I'd also think about reinforcing the base, maybe build it up with some epoxy putty?
The stuff that comes in a small clear tube and looks like two different colour putties that you mix together and then use.

If you are going to use any epoxy type stuff to repair a cracked intercooler then you would need to be 100% sure that none of it goes through the crack and hardens inside the cooler as if it were to break off under pressure you could be in serious bother.

If it were my car I'd be either looking for a good second hand one or removing it and having it properly welded.

The araldite didn't hold up. I tried it with my hand and it gave way, boost pressure would have easily blown through it. I got a good price on a spurious part so that is going on today :-)

    Thanks for the feedback guys
