For someone who has a young teenage spanish student in their home, what would be the best satellite to point at to get general entertainment spanish channels free to air.

here is a link to lyngsat site with a list of fta spanish channels.

i dont know what is on each channel but you could look them up on the net and see.

most are on 30w or 19e which are easily receivable in ireland.

very few Spanish channels are free to air

theres lots on 19E but most are encrypted only a few Spanish regional channels i.e Telemadrid are fta

13e also has a few including TVE Internacional

Very few fta Spanish channels out there. Theres a few on 19.2E, 13E& 9E. Hipsat at 30W would have the most Spanish stuff but it's mostly encrypted although theres a handful fta channels, about 10 - 15.

Is the total cost of setting all that up not much more than say a basic D+ sub on astra?
Also if I remember the Tdt box is non HD and very basic?

cost , dish , tdt sat box and no payying D+ sub , yes there HD canal on TDT system
lot cheaper then D+ sub
