If you do a search there was a recent thread in relation to this.
In short, it depends on the companies, some will recognise your named drivers experience and pro-rate it, others will not.

Its named driving experience and you need to have been named for at least a year to get one,its also the last time you where named on a policy that will count,a insurance company wont accept broken years on experience.

I'd say the majority wouldn't accept named driving as a way of accruing a NCB?

A few do to be honest, they give up to a half year for every year as a named driver.

Don't assume that the company offering you the highest NCB will necessarily be the cheapest. Give all your details to every insurance company and a good selection of brokers and see who comes up with the best quote, let them worry about how they arrive at that figure.
