    I got a PO dated 7th April 2012. Six months and 1 day ago. How do I get the value of it?

    Send back to GPO , O Connell Street Dublin Repayments Section ,they will re isue in your name and you can then encash at local Post Office make sure the original has your name and town filled in

    It used to be the case that if the time had expired, you could go to a PO, pay the original poundage (the charge the buyer paid over face value) and they would cash it.

    Thanks - the po was one day overdue but the PO clerk changed it for me anyway:)
