Accept job to decline later

I have been lucky enough to get not one job offer but two.

One of the positions is here in Ireland but doesnt offer the salary I was hoping for. I am currently negotiating on the salary for this role which may be increased.
In the meantime I have been offered another position in the UK. The salary is higher for this one. Both roles are a good fit for me and my level of experience.
Staying in Ireland would be my location preference.

I have been considering accepting the UK one and waiting to see if there will be any move on the Irish offer. I know that a u-turn after acceptance would rule out any further work with the UK employer.

Is this a bad idea? Should I just decline the UK offer and hold tight for the right Irish position?

    Thanks for your help

You are very lucky indeed! Congrats. I say assess the pro's and con's of each job rather than focus on its location. I know you want to stay in Ireland but I think if the job role and benefit of gaining experience from it might be better in the UK best to go for that but if you think its the one in Ireland go with that.

Which role do you think is the right one for you? Maybe decide on that basis?
Despite the salary its more the role than just the salary and location but also which job you think you benefit from and progress with as well as be happy in it and be able for the role?

Best of luck with your decision!
