So, people, do you butter your sanbos??

Personally I can't stand the taste of butter (or mayonnaise, or margarine for that matter).

Depends if the filling needs to stick to the bread or not. If there is a wet ingredient eg mayo or relish then I don't feel the need for butter.
Are you thinking about opening your own sandwich bar OP? or have you just got a strange fasination with sambos?

I don't often use butter as it's usually a pain in the ass to spread (and despite popular opinion, Dairygold and the like are not actually butter!)

I usually use salsa or pesto instead, or sometimes mayonnaise.

a little and ill give u a tip, use the back of a teaspoon to spread the butter, it spreads better and faster than a knife

I butter one of the slices, as i try not to use too much butter. When its a toasted sambo, i put the mustard on the outside, when it is done. Delish.
