Wikipedia page on RTE states - "Wales is currently able to receive RTE television via overspill from the Republic. This will cease to occur when Ireland has completed it transition towards digital terrestrial television by 2012." Is this latter statement correct or rather do you think it will be correct after DSO on 24th October or will we have to wait?

I would think there will be no problem in parts of Wales getting Saorview from 24th October. If people are able to pick up Freeview in Ireland from the Preseli transmitter in Wales which is running at 20kw, then getting Mt. Leinster, which is pumping out 160kw, should be no problem in Wales.
To see the extent of possible coverage in Wales go to: http://www.ukfree.tv/shutdowndetail.php?tx=SF766130
Of course anyone in Wales wishing to receive Saorview would need to have a Freeview HD tv or STB.

Mt Leinster had to reduce power until DSO as it was blocking Preseli viewers in parts of Wales. Once Mt L moves to CH23 and resumes full power, it should be available to some parts at least.

Well, I'm hoping that signals will continue. i don't live in any of the green areas on the ukfree map but I'm hoping the overspill will continue.

Currently get UHF Mt. L with VHF Kippure so I'll be waiting for Oct 24th...
