iphone rearview back up camera(reversing) for car

    Hi thinking about installing such a thing but cant find any licence plate waterproof camera that will connect to an iphone anybody have any ideas on how it might be done.. Maybe an IP camera with an app or a bluetooth wireless camera im open to suggestions

    Its a 2010 VAUXHALL INSIGNIA 2.0 CDTi SE Nav no video in the head unit

    Can I ask why you want to use an iPhone? You'd have the hassle of stopping, opening the App, connecting by Wifi, waiting for it to run. Then reversing. In my opinion an iPhone is not a candidate for this type of application.

    You could get an IP camera over wifi, they are readily available for very little, but I doubt you'll find anything small and discrete. They are generally made for CCTV installations, where size doesn't matter. You'd be better off buying a full kit i.e. Camera and small screen, and installing that. Or failing that, you could see about retrofitting one to your existing header unit. Provided you can find a unit, its not too big a job to swap them out. At least on VW / Audi.
