Mountain running

    Hey, I was hoping to do a bit of mountain running in the triathlon off-season but looking at the IMRA website it seems that the only race left on the calendar is an end of season race in November....is this right?

    Yes. But check the IMRA forum for informal runs through the winter if you want to get out into the hills with a group.

    Yes, I could have been a little more informative...

    The first BHAA cross country race is on next Saturday: http://bhaa.ie/article.php?story=teachers2012. It's a relatively painless introduction to XC, and a good way to see if it's something you'd like to do more of.

    The Dublin novice XC championships are on the following day in the Phoenix park. The course is tougher, the pace will be faster, and you need to be a member of an AAI-affiliated club.

    There's a Glendalough trail race coming up soon. Think it's in aid of debra.

    IMRA Winter league usually starts in Jan. Seems to be a group of people running every wed. As Jeff says, check the forum.

    Else just pick some of the races from the summer and run them.
