Where can I find a traditional Irish costume?

    Hi,
Not sure if this it the correct setion to post on, but some people in the theatre business may be able to help....
We (one male and one female) are heading off to represent Ireland in an international competition in November. One of the requirements is that we have to wear our "National costumes" for one day.
As far as I know, Ireland doesn't have a national costume, so we'll have to make do with some sort of traditional clothing that relects the Irish culture in some way...
I'm not sure yet what we are even looking for, but I'd like it to be quite elaborate and colourful if possible - preferably something that gives a good impression of Ireland and doesn't just make us look like Leprechauns.
Has anyone any suggestions about what it should look like? Or where we might hire such a costume? Anyone aware of an re-enactment societies that may be able to help?
    Thanks
