Motors TV's response to a complaint about no cancellation of Bathurst broadcast

I noticed this on their facebook page while writing about their dismal coverage of the final round of Grand Am.

There was a good few complaints about them not showing the Bathurst V8 live. Apparently, they advertised it and then cancelled it without letting anybody know.

A few complained in various posts and got a pretty curt reply from Motors TV stating that they will do whats best for the channel told posters not to post complaints on their facebook page. One poster wrote on the website forum and apparently this is what he got back.

"Yeah, first of all I have to admit I've long considered not to even reply about Bathurst, especially considering the amount of posts which are insultants to say the least !

How can some of you mention disrespect from our part when you're able to write such e-mails, that amazes me !

Now to the real point, no we won't be showing Bathurst LIVE this year, and yes it is heart-breaking also for us...
Our contract for 2012 doesn't include any LIVE coverage for V8 Supercars, for reasons that remain confidential (whatever your guesses are...).

I fully understand the deception of many of you, but also find really sad that nobody's able to put the whole channel in perspective and consider the other programming and efforts done in 2012...

Hopefully some of you will still be watching the channel in a few days time, and might then catch the highlight show...

I have to be honest and say I hate this channel. I also have to say that I have no interest in V8's but it's typical of Motors TV to do what they like when it comes to showing programs or coverage.
The broadcast quality is straight out of the analogue 90s. Even Screensport's quality was better.
They have no concern for schedules, even with delayed and highlights. You are constantly turning on your Sky record to find that the race you thought was starting, began an hour beforehand.

Maybe I'm being naive but I can't believe that a TV channel would respond to complaints about them screwing up with such disdane for it's viewers. I took a look at the complaints and most of them seem ok, with the majority of people complaining about the fact that they weren't informed properly rather than not getting a chance to see the broadcast.

I personally think this channel is doing so much to ruin motorsport in general and they damage any chance of promoting other major championships like V8's, Grand Am or ALMS. Thank god they don't have Indy. God knows what they would do with it. I know they promote a lot of local championships that would never be shown elsewhere and of course its' free but I don't think it gives them the right to behave like the Ryanair of TV. The 'you've got no other choice attitude' The very reason they are so backward in most of their productions is because it's free; If people paid for it, then they would have to behave better and produce programs more professionally. I would pay any day for a motorsport channel so I'm not knocking them just because they are free and open to being criticized. It just amazes me how unprofessional they are and how badly they take criticism. Sky would never respond like that.

Does anybody know if Speed is considering an European set up? I think we could really do with it.

I work for an other TV channel, and well its all down to Money.

If motors TV cant make any money from the V8s they wont pay what the Aussies want for it. It also could be things like the channel only being staffed during the day and is just on auto pilot during the night. Even paying the £300 for night cover could push the budget over.

Also the reply above is just a typical french reply.

Also the WRC on Friday the sound was out of sync by 2 seconds!!! Retards!

    Stop your nonsence:rolleyes:

As poor as the station is where else/who is going to show the nascar nationwide series?

I don't particulary want them to go bust.

It's free so if you don't like it move on:pac:

Would anyone here pay a sub for a good motorsport channel?

    I.e with indy, f1, nascar x3, wrc, le mans V8. €10 a month?

Quite a few of us pay it for Sky Sports F1 at the minute. I personally have no major beef with Motors. I think they do a poor job on most of their work but we get to see F3, Sportscars, Nationwide etc so cant complain too much
